Moyers is a small unincorporated community in Pushmataha County, in the southeastern corner of Oklahoma. It rests at the foot of the Kiamichi Mountains, a rugged, forested range in the western Ouachitas, and lies about ten miles east of Antlers, the county seat. State Highway 2, a two-lane road winding through timbered hills, is the community's lifeline, and the Kiamichi River runs through the valley nearby. A settlement has stood at the site of Moyers since at least the 1880s, when the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway—the "Frisco"—built a line north to south through the Choctaw Nation, connecting Fort Smith, Arkansas, with Paris, Texas.
