Burneyville is a small unincorporated community in Love County, Oklahoma, situated in the lush bottomlands of the Red River in the state's far south, near the Texas border. The community is known for holding the oldest post office in Love County still in use, a marker of its long history in the region. Burneyville's best-known feature is Falconhead Resort & Country Club, originally known as Turner's Lodge, which made golf history in the 1950s and 1960s as the smallest site ever to host both of golf's professional tours—the LPGA and the PGA. Today more than half of Burneyville's residents live within Falconhead, a community that includes a golf course, pro shop, restaurant, housing, a fire station, and a chapel, along with two lakes and a pond.
